Emerging Topics in Mechanics

The conference

This workshop, supported by the National Science Foundation, hopes to bring together luminaries and emerging scientists to present latest advances in the broad and multidisciplinary field of mechanics. The workshop is designed to promote diversity and inclusion of underrepresented groups, especially women.

The workshop is not intended to replicate conventional scientific conferences but will rather focus on lively interactions and discussions centered around the future directions in mechanics. In addition, the workshop will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Professor Huajian Gao who has made lasting contributions to this field, with a banquet sponsored by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston.
